The 2023 Greentech Startup Challenge Awards Ceremony and Startup Terrace Anniversary Demoday took place grandly on November 15th at the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park.

This year, we sincerely invited innovative teams from the Linkou Startup Park, which have been actively expanding overseas in countries such as France, Lithuania, and Malaysia, and successfully establishing a presence in the United States, Germany, Japan, and other nations. These innovative teams participated in the Pitch Demo Show and showcase, leveraging a series of online pre-departure training, on-site training, visits to relevant startup entities, business matching, and mentor guidance. We believe that these efforts will bring elevated results, presenting fresh perspectives and innovative ideas.

The theme of the 2023 Green Tech Innovation Awards Ceremony was “Innovative Green Movement, Co-creating Infinite Possibilities.” The event showcased innovation and cultivation outcomes through diverse formats such as exhibitions, pitches, and networking. Representatives from the Ministry of Economic Affairs, including Deputy Minister Chen Cheng-Chi, and executives from companies that posed competition questions such as Foxconn, ASUS, Taiwan Glass, United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC), Taiwan Sugar, and Chimei, along with partners from the startup ecosystem, domestic and international startup teams, and accelerators, all gathered to witness this moment of honor.

In his speech, Deputy Minister Chen Cheng-Chi emphasized the crucial role of startups in driving the country’s economic development and the need to balance mature development with inclusive sustainability while enhancing international competitiveness. Competitions like this one facilitate the introduction of external innovation for large enterprises and provide opportunities for startups to collaborate with major companies, achieving a win-win situation.

The 2023 Greentech Startup Challenge Awards Ceremony-Netiotek

To support the goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 and promote the development of domestic green technology, Linkou Startup Park and Aiyuan Startup Park jointly organized the “Greentech Challenge Awards Competition.” Since its launch in 2022, the competition has seen the participation of 45 domestic and international companies as question posers, covering topics related to green technology and net-zero carbon emissions, resulting in over 260 startup proposals. This year witnessed increased participation from international companies and a doubling of the number of question-posing companies compared to the inaugural edition. The number of startup registrations also showed significant growth. Ultimately, 24 startups stood out and were recognized at the awards ceremony. In addition to receiving a reward of NT$800,000, they also gained the potential opportunity to become ecosystem partners with the participating companies.

Some notable success stories include the collaboration between The System Group and the startup AMGing CO., LTD, which proposed a non-destructive (non-intrusive) hardware and software energy-saving solution. This collaboration has achieved significant results, leading to further cooperation between Taiwan Landseed International Hospital and the startup MASTA Communication jointly discussing the hospital’s intelligent surgical environment system, utilizing AI for centralized control to automate lighting, air conditioning, and other energy-consuming devices. Juyang Industry partnered with the startup Meta Intelligence, successfully integrating virtual characters with clothing through a technology that generates high-fidelity images in just 7 seconds. This collaboration helped Juyang Industry save design costs and expand into the fashion application field.
