In commemoration of Qu Yuan, a minister to the Zhou Emperor. People hold dragon boat races yearly on the day of his death and scattered rice into the water to feed the fish, to prevent them from eating Qu Yuan’s body. This is where the “zongzi” came from.
Zongzi is made with different fillings and wrapped in bamboo leaves. In Taiwan, different regions have different flavors and cooking methods to make such a delicious dish. Don’t forget to give it a try!
